About Dr. Ralph Stewart
Dr. Ralph Steward, born in 1961 is husband to Judy and a father of one. He was born in North Eastern Nevada and moved to California at age 11 with his family who, up to this time, worked in the water, oil and natural gas industries for many generations. Dr. Stewart has lived and worked in the Central Valley since age 16.
Previous to becoming a chiropractor Dr. Stewart helped run his family's business which provided mobile housing and other services to the oil and natural gas industries. He has also worked as a waiter, bartender, mechanic, truck driver, oilfield roughneck and held various other construction titles.
Around the time of the great depression, Dr. Stewart's Grandfather was struck by lightning while standing on a drill rig floor. He fell 30 feet to the ground and was bedridden. It was a Chiropractor in the MidWest that put him back to work. It only made sense to him then. 35 years later when his 8 year old grandson jumped from the bed of a 4-wheel drive pickup and wrenched his pelvis that he would deliver him to the Chiropractor for treatment. And so it began.
Dr. Stewart's past occupational experience and leisure hobbies required him to become very familiar with many injuries and how to treat them. He believes that until you have experienced musculoskeletal pain first hand it is hard to relate to what the patient is going through and how to fix help them. Dr. Stewart has experienced many injuries of his own and would enjoy sharing his experiences with you in person. He believes whole heartedly that Chiropractic should be your first choice, drugs as a second option and surgery as a last resort.
Dr. Stewart received his associate in the arts degree from Sacramento City College with emphasis on math, science and engineering in 1996. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2000 and became licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic that same year. Dr. Stewart has been working in the field as a Chiropractor since 1999 when he began his preceptorship previous to becoming licensed. He worked as a Chiropractor in Ceres, California for a year and a half and then opened his own practice in Modesto at his current location in August of 2003.
Dr. Stewart has many interests which include camping, fishing, hiking, golf, scuba diving, traveling, reading, cooking, home improvement, gardening, and motorcycle riding among other things. He believes in love, honesty, integrity, service, punctuality, manners, cleanliness, prayer, courage, laughter, toughness, character, hard work and fair prices. With the exception of paperwork he loves what he does. He puts people first and believes that life is sacred.
